Academic excellence and discipleship, side by side.
Journey Christian Academy is a Christ-centered, college-preparatory homeschool cooperative learning program for grades 4–12, launching August 2027 in Midlothian, Virginia. Two days a week, students learn in-person from instructors with specialized knowledge in their respective subject areas. Outside of in-person instruction days, students will complete assignments with parental support and oversight.
Our model
Where academic rigor meets purposeful discipleship.
For families seeking a high-quality education rooted in a Biblical worldview and purposeful discipleship—without losing the flexibility of homeschooling—Journey Christian Academy offers a distinct alternative that blends the best of both worlds.
Our campus operates on a collaborative weekly rhythm: students attend classes two days a week for core academics, electives, and discipleship classes, then complete guided coursework at home outside of in-person Academy days. Every class is taught by an experienced instructor specializing in their field, with academic programming overseen by our Director to ensure excellence at every grade level.
Ultimately, parents remain the primary educators of their children, holding final responsibility for transcripts, testing, and state compliance. Whether you are an experienced homeschool family seeking an academic community or a new family looking for help navigating those administrative steps, we are here to walk alongside you. The Academy is designed to equip your family with the structure, instruction, and community needed to thrive—partnering with you rather than replacing the distinct role God has given you. We see this as a shared calling to anchor our students in the truth of Proverbs 22:6 (CSB): “Teach a youth about the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.”
Why families choose Journey Christian Academy
What makes Journey Christian Academy different?
Academic Excellence
We pursue excellence in learning as an act of worship. Within our structured and purposeful classrooms, dedicated instructors intentionally guide students through rigorous academics. Here, students are challenged to take ownership of their education, learning to meet high standards with the perseverance that builds lasting character.
Christ-Centered Discipleship
Discipleship isn’t an elective or an afterthought—it’s who we are. Every student participates in our Disciple-Making program, creating a shared foundation of faith across our entire student body. Following Jesus shapes our curriculum, our classrooms, and our expectations. We value spiritual growth alongside academic achievement, walking with our students as they deepen their personal relationship with Christ.
Partnership with Families
Parents hold the divine calling to be the primary educators and disciplers of their children, and the Academy is committed to supporting your leadership rather than replacing it. We provide structured instruction, clear expectations, and a community of families walking the same road — giving you the resources and confidence to lead your child well.
Leadership
Seasoned leadership for the journey ahead.

Discipleship isn’t just an addition to our schedule—it’s the foundation of our entire academy. Every student participates in our Disciple-Making program, seamlessly integrating rigorous academics with intentional spiritual formation. We don’t just create a Christian environment; we equip students with the wisdom, critical thinking, and Biblical worldview required to navigate today’s world and follow Jesus with conviction.
Launching August 2027. Here’s where we are.
Right now, we’re actively planning. We’re finalizing curriculum, identifying instructors, listening to interested families, and praying through every decision. The best thing you can do — whether you’re certain you want to enroll or just exploring — is share your interest. It helps us plan, and it puts you on the list to hear from us as the program takes shape.
No commitment. About three minutes. You’ll hear back from us as plans develop.
