Journey Christian Academy is a cooperative learning program built to support and partner with your family, not replace you. As a parent, you remain your child’s primary educator, while we provide the academic structure, instruction, and community that make high-standard homeschooling achievable. Here is how the week works.
On campus
The campus experience: Tuesday & Thursday.
Two days a week, students gather on campus for the elements of education that thrive in person—direct instruction, engaging discussion, electives, and our Disciple Making program in community.
Our comprehensive curriculum includes core subjects — Math, English, Science, History, and Biblical Studies, along with Foreign Languages, and a range of electives. Each enrolled student takes a minimum of three academic classes alongside the Disciple Making program.
Every class is taught by an instructor with specialized knowledge in their subject area, who is regularly evaluated by our Director to ensure consistency and excellence across every grade level.
At home
Guided home learning.
Outside of campus days, learning continues at home under parental guidance. To make home education seamless, our instructors provide clear assignment plans and structured schedules so students stay on track and parents never have to guess what comes next.
At-home days aren’t a pause in the program—they are where deep understanding, independent study habits, and mastery take place. This model gives your family full ownership over your home schedule while ensuring academic progress stays steady, offering the high standards and community of a school alongside the flexibility, family discipleship, and freedom of home education.
Disciple Making
Discipleship isn’t a class. It’s the foundation.
As a core benefit of enrollment, every student participates in our Disciple Making program—an integral part of the Journey Christian Academy experience included at no extra cost.
On Tuesdays and Thursdays during a portion of the lunch period, students gather in gender-specific small groups led by dedicated adult mentors. Through guided study, prayer, and open discussion, this intentional time creates a unique campus culture of deep community, practical faith discussion, and personal encouragement.
We value spiritual formation alongside academic excellence—equipping students to grow in their faith and step into the world as confident disciples who go and make disciples.
The parent’s role
Partnering in your child’s education.
As a cooperative learning program rather than a traditional private school, Journey Christian Academy works alongside your family. Parents retain final oversight of their child’s official homeschool standing, which includes meeting all state homeschooling requirements such as filing the Notice of Intent (NOI), end-of-year testing, and maintaining academic records and transcripts.
While our instructors evaluate student work and provide regular progress updates, parents maintain official transcripts and state reporting. Families also have the opportunity to serve in defined volunteer roles, directly shaping the warm, supportive culture of our community.
Never homeschooled before? You’re not alone. Navigating state requirements can feel daunting at first, but that’s why our cooperative exists. We provide in-person instruction, clear schedules, and a network of experienced families to help you navigate state requirements and best practices each step of the way.
